The shaft could not be separated (in order to not realign), and:
- Due to the very little space available (8.67”), a shorter prismatic base was used
- With a shaft diameter is 12.4”, the prismatic base was widened
- Because notch width was (initially) larger, an additional 3rd axis (“Y” axis ) was built-in
- Since the machine was higher, a longer spindle was made to use standard ball mills…
We designed and adapted our KM3000 key mill in 4 days, traveled to their site, waited 2 days until they decided where to do the notch and its dimensions – and machined the notch in 2 hours…
