Machining roller spindle tips on paper and cellulose lines at UPM Fray Bentos Mill.

This year we decided to first buy a portable lathe PL3000, after knowing its benefits we also bought a PL2000 and a PL4000. In the image, we can see the first application that was made with these pieces of equipment.

The advantage and the success consisted in that: we do not have in our plant, not even 300 km away, a lathe that can do the work on a 600mm diameter and 12,000mm long roller. With this PL3000 equipment, we were able to carry out the task efficiently and quickly, if we did not have it, we had to send the roller to another city with a delay of several days, regardless of shipping costs, transfers, external machining workshop, and others.

The same day we need to do the work, the same day the work was finished, the roller installed and the production line running. We save money and we comply very quickly.
