2020 Picture of the Year Finalist – 20

Our twentieth and final finalist is thanks to Edwin Jurado from Rectiequipos SAS in Bogota, Colombia, showcasing the use of a CLIMAX CM6200 Circular Mill being used to machine the upper slew ring seat surface on a Komatsu mining shovel. No welding was allowed to secure the machine in place, so a custom fixture was designed to help set up the circular mill using the shovel’s central pin itself, greatly reducing the setup time.
