2020 Picture of the Year Finalist – 07

Our seventh finalist was captured by Ward Vessel & Exchanger based in North Carolina, USA, using an H&S TOOL AFC 66” Clamshell to complete an internal weld overlay repair. To accomplish this, Ward used the H&S Clamshell to cut off the lower section to have full access to the overlay. They used compound angle tooling to tackle the 60” diameter and 3” thick carbon steel material with a compound 37-10 bevel, ensuring a much nicer weld prep after the overlay was complete.
