HELPING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS

HELPING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us all, but it hasn’t restrained the spirit of the CLIMAX engineering team, namely Sydnee Hammond – Senior Mechanical Engineer. Working from home, it was Sydnee’s idea to utilize our 3D printing capabilities to print face shield frames, then attaching plastic shields to them. Making protective face shields is dramatically different from everything else we do, but our engineering and manufacturing teams stepped up to answer the call, and with split shifts, we began making these frames 24/7.

The first batch of face shields were delivered by Jacob Secor, CLIMAX Customer Service Representative to first responders at the West Valley Fire District. The communities of Willamina, Grand Ronde, Sheridan, and SW Polk, Oregon have had a hard time securing plastic face shields due to shortages, and we are extremely proud to play a role in supporting these communities.

We want to thank ALL first responders and the critical and essential workers who are putting their own health and safety at risk every day. The CLIMAX team will continue to make face shields so we can provide these heroes with more safety devices until we beat this pandemic.
